Daniel Baxter — known to the world as DBAXxx — didn't grow up in the city. He came from Enid, Oklahoma, a small town where the music had to find its way in from a distance. But it did. And when it hit, it hit for life.

He comes from a musical family, and that foundation gave him ears wide enough to take in everything — jazz, gospel, soul, pop. But two genres pulled him close and never let go: hip hop and R&B. The rawness of the rhyme and the heat of the groove. The poetry in the street and the ache in the melody.

More than two decades ago he made the migration west, landing in Southern California — where the sun and the scene had room for something real. SoCal became home, and home became the backdrop for everything he creates.

DBAXxx draws from giants — Biggie's weight, Tupac's fire, Nas's intellect, Jodeci's passion, Prince's freedom, Keith Sweat's intimacy. What comes out is his own: layered, honest, and built to last.

Beyond the music, Daniel holds a Master's degree in Education — a reminder that the sharpest artists never stop learning.

Daniel's journey has never been without struggle. He battled addiction and alcoholism for a majority of his adult life and a portion of his adolescence — and came out the other side. With a sobriety date of October 30, 2024, he stands as a testament to resilience, growth, and the power of choosing yourself. That fight lives in his music.
